A Grounded Legacy. A Future Reimagined.
The Bokone Foundation is the community and development arm of REconnecteD Ventures — a heartfelt bridge between heritage and innovation, rooted deeply in the soil of Mahikeng and the broader North West province. Inspired by the resilient spirit of the former Bophuthatswana region and the values of dignity, discipline, and unity, the Foundation exists to support the next era of rural and peri-urban development across Southern Africa.
Bokone means “north” — a direction, a reminder, and a call. It reminds us of where we come from, and it calls us forward to lead with clarity, strategy, and care. We honour the traditions that raised us, the villages that held us, and the elders who dreamed before us — while boldly stepping into modern models of empowerment, investment, and long-term impact.
The Bokone Foundation focuses on four core pillars:
Whether it’s a sewing co-op led by gogos, or a tech-enabled greenhouse in a township school, our projects are deeply human, rooted in place, and designed to last.
We are not outsiders “saving” communities — we are those communities. Every programme is built collaboratively, with local insight, led by strategy, and held to global standards. We are committed to moving beyond charity into strategic development that respects identity, land, and autonomy.
Where the Dreamers & Builders Meet
The Bokone Foundation's launch initiative is the Bokone Social Club — a private social cirlce that brings together a growing network of young professionals, creatives, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who believe in the power of hometown impact.
Through curated events, conversations, and collaborations, the Club fosters relationships that turn into action — because it’s not just about networking, it’s about building. Together, we are co-creating a new generation of local change-makers who are proud of where they’re from, and intentional about where they’re going.
Join us in reimagining what’s possible — from the ground up.
We welcome members who are:
- Aged 25–50
- From or based in Mahikeng, Mmabatho and the greater North West Province
- Entrepreneurs, professionals, creatives, politicians, academics, athletes, or community leaders
The Axis Program is a flagship initiative that is designed to strengthen youth and rural entrepreneurship ecosystems across Southern Africa. It aims to create pathways for local entrepreneurs to access the mentorship, research, and market insights that drive sustainable business growth — both within Africa and abroad.

The collaboration underscores both organisations’ shared commitment to building sustainable bridges between rural innovation and global opportunity.
REconnecteD Group Africa invites corporate, academic, and development partners to join the journey toward building Africa’s next generation of globally connected entrepreneurs.
